Default Powerpax slimline for 18650 batteries (spare battery holder)

A couple of days back I emailed powerpax to ask if they are making a holder for 18650 batteries and this was the response I got:

Was just searching for one of these and stumbled across this. Hopefully they make it. Just ordered 2 for some cr123's.

Awesome, I love my 4xAA Powerpax holders! One for 18650's would be good.

    Cheers

Can you clarify if it will be for protected or unprotected cells?
The small size difference may mean they aren't held tightly in place or are too long for the bottom clip.

We must hope they are aware of the size difference in both diameter (18 to 18.7 mm) and length (65 to 70 mm).

    Compare 18650 LiIon batteries or smaller (RCR123, 16340, 14500, 10450) LiIon batteries.

I have alot of those holders for aa and 123 cells but wont use them on protected batteries , I wonder if the pressure from the tab sliding on the side could be damaging to the protection wire.

I reposted in the first post the reply I got because I asked for permission to do it and I have it written, so it's not a private response and shouldn't be edited as its not against the rules...

Anyway, still waiting for the holder!

I recently sent an email to Storacell/PowerPax asking about 18650 Battery Holders.

They said they were reviewing the tooling for them right now, and asked which brand/type of battery I use.

    Hopefully, not long now.

    Bump!

So these are out there now, anyone have one yet?

Curious how they do with fat and/or long protected cells. My protected 14500s don't fit in the AA caddy very well (too long).

Very interesting. I might do an article about them when I get hold of some, but I am not going to pay $20 in shipping for a $7 item.

Illumination Supply sells them. You could request review samples or pay for them to have them include with your next shipment of review batteries...I assume they'll send you more.

Edit: It doesn't look like they have the 18650 carriers yet.

There are also European dealers for PowerPax, but I did not find the 18650 model anywhere. I do not often get batteries from US any more, it is mostly from EU and China.

I asked about fit on Amazon and got a reply. He said protected cells fit just fine and unprotected cells are a little loose, but don't rattle. Pretty much exactly what I wanted to hear.

Default Just a heads up for new Powerpax ( storeacell) battery holders 18650 and 8 AA holders

I just saw that Powerpax now has 4-18650 and 8 AA battery holders in their store not sure how long or if anyone else has mentioned it.

I'm ordering some ( a bunch) 18650 holders and extra AA holders as I type this

Thanks for the thread merge Norm

E2 Field Gear has 18650 holders now, but that would be international shipping for you.
