I am a fan of AA powered lights. Saw Going Gear's video review on the Olight S65. Looks like it has a lot of throw and some good spill for near range as well. Does anyone have this light and want to give some feedback? One thing I am interested in is the thermal switch and high output. How long can the high output be used before the thermal switch kicks in? Thanks.

The thermal regulation kicks in after 3 min. The reduction in output is noticeable, but not really that big. The S65 still puts out a lot of light in the "thermal reduced" mode. If you look at ti-force's excellent review, it looks like the output drops from about 650 lumens to 500 lumens. It seems that if you cycle from low, medium, and back to high, you get full output again for another 3 min.

The TK 41 uses 8 (EIGHT) AA cells...Its kind of an inconvenience. 6 although quite a few, is more manageable imho!
