Default Aldi 'Activ Energy' LSD batteries

Noticed that Aldi stores in the UK are from today selling their own brand 2,300MaH low self-discharge batteries for £4.49 per pack of four, going to try to pick a couple of packs up today and see how they fare. The packs state 'ready charged', not sure how they'd stack up against Eneloops (I don't have any to compare with) but am slowly replacing my standard rechargeables with LSD types.

Anyone else tried these batteries, how do you find them? Googling for reviews they seem to be generally very good for the price

Got myself a couple of packs of AAs and a pack of AAAs. Couldn't find a manufacturing date as such though the packaging does have '11/11' on it so they could only be a few days old? Put them on my cheap multimeter, the AAs were 1.29v apart from one at 1.27v, and the AAAs were all 1.3 or 1.31v. Not sure how to measure the mAh though, think it's the section on the meter with the 'omega' sign on it?

That's the OHMS setting for measuring resistance. You need a hobby charger, that will do discharge tests to establish the capacity mAh, or as I use a CBA II ( or a the newer CBA II) or similar device.

That's an interesting looking charger! Don't think I could justify getting one of those sadly

Anyone else got any experience with these Aldi batteries?

    Better late than never!

I bought a set of them last year. They have only seen light use in my camera flash.
They could probably do with a few full charge/discharge cycles to wake them up.
Capacity is not quite up to the claimed spec, but not too far off.

    1 1978mAh

    Update:

After a few charge/discharge cycles, these are are now performing better.
