Hi Vinhnguyen54, I would like to get in on your new years give away, So i will be ordering somethimg tonight, I just have a few questions to help me decide which setup I will get.

1.) Personally I would like to get something along the lines of Low voltage (4.2v max) multi-mode in a T6 or U2 with DD, Med, Strobe, but I dont think that is an option anymore, right?

2.) If not an option I want to get either your 4.2v max 1 mode DD option or your Multi-Mode Low Voltage 2.7v - 4.5v High Current option driven somewhere around 4.2a - 4.4a. The only concern with the later of these two is, will I get the maxium output seeing as 4.5 volt wouldnt be reacheable with the battery i would be using (AW3100). Every time I charge it it tops off at 4.17 - 4.20.

4.) If I wont get ultimate output without the 4.5 volts would increasing the amps help get more lumens out of it?

5.) Also, I would like to be able to use the pill itself in my Dereelight DBS or a P-60 forum factor.

    Thanks.

    NastySanchez,

    1) DD, Medium, Strobe was never an option. I can do DD/High-Medium-Low, or DD/High-Medium-Low-Strobe-SOS with. Both with mode memory.
    2) AW3100 is excellent for XML DD single mode
    3) 4.5V is more than enough voltage for max brightness. Brightness are determine more so by current for LEDs.
    4) I don't usually glue reflector for XML Drop ins.

Thought u guys might get a kick outta this

    4.6a! From 4 18650 in parallel.

Ok then now i understand the mode options. I thought for sum reason I had seen the H. M. Strobe option in the thread.

What would the amps be on DD?

Also what I was asking with the volt range, was if the driver is rated at 2.7-4.5 & my battery is only putting out 4.2voltsfully charged, is the light going to preform at its maximum potential with the Aw3100 not being 4.5 to begin with. For example I have a dropin rated 3-16v & it is noticably brighter with two rcr's than a single 18650. Is that just bad regulation?

Im going to send you the $$ anyways for an order so i can reep the benifits of your smoking specials with giveaways & hopefully by our next communication ill kno what I need.
    Thanks Vinhnguyen

There wont be much voltage sag with 4 18650 LOL...So are you returning the light? I think neutral would be a better choice for yah :-)

    You hot Low-High-Strobe from here:

Multi-Mode High Current and Medium Voltage: 2.8-6V
    - 2800mA - 5600mA
    - Low-Medium-High with memory
    - Low-High with memory
    - Low-Medium-High-SOS-Strobe with memory
    - Low-High-Strobe with memory

    • I can set the circuit driver from 350mA -5,600mA
    • 350ma-2800mA = Free
    • To set from 2800mA up to 5,600mA please add $1 per 350ma increment
    • Example: 2800mA + 350mA*4= 4,200mA => + $4 to price
    • XML produce 1000 LED lumen at around 4,200ma

    - Choice of Smooth or OP reflector
    $45 based price for 2800mah

DD Pull 4-4.5A but usually settle down to about 4.2A with most 18650s. All of the drop ins sold in this thread or by me will run BEST 18650. Your AW3100 is the ideal battery option. For most higher than 4.2V drop ins you will need to run near its max voltage for best regulation. However, like I said, all 18650 will power any of my drop ins to it's max potential. Additional voltage doesnt improve output on my drop ins. It might improve regulation a bit though.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    nastysanchez,

Let me make a recommendation for you since you seem a little unsure in your email...

How about a 3.5A High-Medium-Moonlight-High-Medium-Moonlight-Strobe-SOS-Blink-Beacon with no mode memory. This way your light will always blast on with max power with having blinky modes when you really need it yet without it being in the way of normal use. I like this setup most for my lights. 3.5A is also the best balance between output and efficiency IMO.

Wayne, so depending on what you reply is I'll take either a XML-U2 4.2max 1 Mode DD
    OR
    Your XML-U2 2.7-4.5max highcurrent DD-Med-Low-Sos-Strobe
Ive had bad luck with multi-modes not being as bright as their single mode brother & sisters. So as long as you can garantee me the DD multi-mode is as bright as the single mode DD & your reply about the voltage is what I think its going to be, I'll probably go with the multi.
Thanks for bearing with me, I'm horrible with options.

I'm not sure if I want to send it back right now as I've been tinkering a bunch this week and now am busy with work.

If u have anything in a 5B -ish tint I might have to send in for an emitter swap.

Not sure I wanna roll the dice again on tint bins

    FYI @ 4v it pulls 4.61a
    @ 3.75v it's pulling ~3.1a

I'm having some resistance issues with my host.
Similar results with my other drops (van & NB)
Not sure exactly why but am working on it - TOO MUCH TINKERING WITH LIGHTS AHHHHHGHHH

I know most of u guys can relate.

    I LUV CPF!

Lunar New Year Special Ends tomorrow mid night. I have 7 items to give away. The freebies might change a bit but there will be at least 7 items to give away. I will finalize this list as I go over my inventory. I will draw up to 7 names randomly starting with the list of names below:

    1. thundertree
    2. justindfish
    3. nastysanchez
    4. xml
    5. sohl6
    6.
    AncientSword
    7. Michael Rantz
    8.YKB

The winners will get to pick their choice of freebies in the order of drawn names. I am going to use random.org to do the drawing. The number next to your name above is your assigned number. If I am missing your name please let me know. So far we have 5 buyers which mean at this point all 5 will win something. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I will take one of these, please:

1 Mode High Current and Medium Voltage: 2.8-6V
    350mah-5600mah
    $45based price for 2800mah
    2800mA + 350mA*4= 4,200mA => + $4 to price
T6 tint please, or the next closest to that which you have in stock
Either reflector is fine, whatever you have in stock.
    Thermal injection, please

    Sound right? $45 + $4= $49 - 4.90 = $44.10

    Sent $47.50

Got my R5 and XML high voltage and very pleased with them. Looking forward to the one I just ordered.

I have a question though. Can you take a sharpie or something and write the max voltage on the side of the pill or scratch it on or something? I don't want to mix these up and fry one... I couldn't have told my two apart if they weren't different emitters.
