Ok fyrstormer, that is an outrageous setup. I (we) need to know the details and process you went through to create such a beauty!! Not just "tale of the tape" but more background. I think I just found my new "grail light"!

Yes. It was built from a used Aleph 1 head and a new-in-packaging McLux battery tube that I bought from someone who'd bought it new circa 2002. Then I added a titanium bezel made by RPM, and a 3-speed Aleph light engine from The Sandwich Shoppe. I built it because I decided the best way to have an Aleph and a McLux in my collection was to combine the features I appreciated most about each design into a single light, and conveniently enough, the parts were designed to fit together. I'm pretty sure there is not another light out there exactly like this one.

It is, from the neck down. From the neck up it's an Aleph 1.

I ended up purchasing it from someone here (don't remember who) then unfortunatly sold it to a USN member a few months later. If it is the same one it sure has traveled.

At the time you had it it was an XP-G. I ended up trading a regular ti body for it from BarryH, who I think bought it from you on USN, and putting the Nichia 119 in it. For a while I was working on trying to trace it back kind of like a family tree. The light has been around.

I think I found the guy you bought it from and he may have been the one that had it coated. I was planning on writing a post about it but could never complete the story. Unfortunately I deleted the PMs.

No, i have no skills to create light. I got it from a friend, but i have no idea where it came from.

Oh. Darn.

On further examination, it kinda looks like a GanP Griffin body tube. That light had an E-series-compatible head and a C-series-compatible tail, which it looks like yours has as well. The little one-cell tube you use for your Mule looks exactly like a GanP Griffin tube.
