Here's a picture of what normally cannot be directly viewed, the emitter of my new McGizmo SunDrop XR-U at work. It's easy to see the traces for each of the 6 dies. Flashlight is at the lowest power setting. Setup was shining the SunDrop through a 60mm lens (backwards) focused onto a white card. Used a Nikon 200mm macro, Nikon D700.

That's going outside the box to get the image Nice work.

When the battery in my older (non XR-U) is 99% depleted there's just enough light from the dies to clearly see what look like three separate bars, probably the three dies. They look quite different than your image.

Model name is SOCOM and MicroTech also made a Mini-SOCOM which was much easier to pocket carry. They were available in both SA & DA versions.

Sorry I missed that post. Looks a lot the Rockstead. Don't have enough money to see one in person.

I bought a Mini-Socom as a gift for our son, 1994 IIRC, DA model. Because of the smaller blade it deployed incredibly fast. Son then bought the full size DA model & figured out it was too large for pocket carry

He's bought & sold more MicroTechs than I can count ... & he has a few Gizmos's as well.

Wow, what did you do to that V10R Ti? It looks like you ran it through a washing machine with a bag of gravel.
