That MZ25 looks interesting. Couldn't really tell where the clicky was on the light by the catalog pics, but 3000 lumens out of 4x18650 batts looks promising. I almost pulled the trigger on a Nitecore Tiny Monster, but I think I'll hold off now...

And Eagletac is claiming that the module on the MZ25 can be upgraded...which is a huge plus and cost saving factor when you're able to swap out the emitter rather than having to buy a new light. I just upgraded the emitter on my Eagletac P20C2 MkII from XP-G to XM-L and it was a great upgrade for only $28.

Well, I feel a little better now that I've seen those 1050L models. Right before I ordered my new G25C2 a little over a week ago, I was told by illuminationgear that they were waiting for a new 1000L Eagletac light, and the guy made it seem like it was to be a replacement for the G25C2, but with 1000L instead of 770L(640ANSI). They were even out of the U2, 770L model of the G25C2, so I assumed it was because they were awaiting this new replacement 1000L model. So I bought my G25C2 from goinggear, and hoped it wasnt going to be superceded by a better model real soon.

But now that I read this, the new 1050L model isnt a replacement for the G25C2. In fact, it seems that the SZ25 needs 2-18650's to run at 1050L. My G25C2 runs at 770L with only 1-18650, so I am relieved that I didnt buy an inferior light that was quickly replaced by an "improved" model.

I wouldnt see much point in buying the SZ25, unless its 2-18650's give it MUCH improved battery life. But the MZ25 seems impressive with 2500L - 3,000L on 4-18650's.

Prices? Anyone know?

When I was looking through the facebook page of eagletac I saw this comment,

So it looks like they are still in development.

I wonder if these lights will come out? or is it now replaced by the SX25L3 with MT-G. http://www.eagletac-usa.com/docs/ETCatalog2012.pdf
The SX25L3 seems to be a hybrid of the two, the SZ25 was going to have 3 x 18650 and an XP-G led and the MZ25 was going to have 4x 18650 and 1x SST-90 or 3x XM-L - So SX25L3 is a great compromise of the two with 3x 18650 and 1x XM-L or MT-G.

Kinda wonder what one with an SBT90 or 70 would do vs the MTG2 version.
