Im in search of a flashlight that takes 1 or 2 AA batteries. Figured the best way to do this is to see what everyone has and you can show off your babies :). I'd like to purchase an alternative to my Malkoff flashlight that is a little smaller and is more pocketable.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I have 3 AA flashlights. A couple of Fenixs and a Shining Beam Caveman. I much prefer the Caveman. It is comfortable to hold, has a forward clicky switch, and I like the UI. Twist the head for the three levels. I usually use the low level, but on high it brighter than either Fenix AA flashlight.

My first flashlight was a 4Sevens Quark AA2 R5, which is a nice solid light. Last month I bought a Shining Beam I-mini XP-G R4 NW ... uses one cr123 battery but has an adapter tube to allow for a single AA battery as well.

I just received the SWM V10a yesterday, and it is one impressive little light. Highly recommended.

Malkoff AA-2 Twisty with a M31. Very simple no frills light. Twist it tight, 230 lumens of beautiful beam. Untwist, off. :) Its kind of pocketable, coat pockets. Jeans it gets to be a little uncomfy, cargo pants it works well though.

What Malkoff do you currently have?

You guys posting pix of your collections, without telling us what the brand/models are, are not being very helpful to the OP and others of us that are looking to buy another AA .

My list is going to be long, will put it up in a while. Not sure what the OP is looking for in particular since no specifics are mentioned but he did say "Figured the best way to do this is to see what everyone has and you can show off your babies".
But if it's going by my preference, I would suggest Zebralight SC51/H51, Sunwayman V10A, Quark AA Tac or D10 Tribute (if it can be found). For cream of the crop, there is Haiku 2xAA Paks + Haiku head, Kuku Ti D10/JHanko Ti D10 or a custom built.

I am moving this to Recommend me a light... forum. OP needs to be more specific about what he wants.

Ahhh.... nice to get an experienced opinion. Good to know that I only have two 1xAA and both are on your short list. V10A is out due to dismal runtime on low. The Nitecore looks very interesting though - maybe the up-to-date D11.2 - wonder how they managed such high efficiency at both the high and low-end, not to mention being an infinitely variable system.

I think I finally found a new light... thank you Zeruel!

You're welcome. :) V10A may have a shorter runtime than the others in the shortlisted, but it's compensated by the quality of the beam, body and ease of UI via rotary.

But do note I didn't recommend D11.2....

Left: Javelin "Shorty" with AA extender and Surefire FM34 diffuser.
Right: Quark "X" AA² Tactical with AA body, turbo tailcap and Fenix AD401 diffuser.

Quark creates a massive wall of light, while Shorty easily throws past 200 meters.

Hmmm, after some research here on CPF, I see what you mean. Don't think the D10 is available any more. Back to the drawing board I guess.
