A Google search yields info from years ago. I wish you could limit the "time" of posting to recent events, but NO.

I want some current [2011 & Newer] info as to which type has the advantage vs cost vs lifespan etc.

A couple years ago, a 15 watt PV Panel was about $200~

Now, you can get a 100 Watt PV Panel for $250 shipped, with "25 Year Limited Power Warranty"http://www.amazon.com/Ramsond-Monocr...345902&sr=1-14

Terms of manufacture components confuse,

Amorphous Silicon

Amorphous-Polycrystalline

Polycrystalline

Mono-Crystalline

Thin-Film etc

I assume it's like the the EER Rating on Heat Pumps for the Home.
The higher the EER, the more efficient the unit, BUT the Upkeep Costs can outweigh the savings.

There has to be a cost/ratio balance" of today's technology for the average Joe so he can reduce his "Carbon-Footprint"
