I was just thinking... i wish it came with a clicky. There's a lot of similar small edc lights like this, but they all seem to be lacking one feature or another that im looking for. I like the quark minis, but i wish they came with a clip and a clicky. A preon 1 with a clicky could fit the bill, but i'd really like to have a AA/CR123 option also. The eagletacs are nice but again, no clicky. The jetbeam E3S is also nice, but it doesn't come with a clip. Something small/slim, nice clip, clicky switch, AA/CR123, available in some sort of pretty finish (ti or ss ). Is this too much to ask? Even if it's a metal switch like on the E3S or an electronic type switch like on the zebralights, to keep it smaller, that'd still be fine by me. So news of eagletac adding clicky switches to these is definitely good news imo

titanium on twisties are a challenge, you need special lube. super lube wont do it.
once you have a clicky, the threads and lubing are not of concern anymore.
and it's easy to lube a clicky. super lube.

Eagletac customer service specialist Christina says "Yes, the D25 RC clicky version and D25A RC TI will be released in the coming month.". today is February, coming month is March.

The Clicky option is going to make these really nice option.

I was going to purchase the AA size and 2*AA size twisties but after having a 4Sevens 2*AA mini I dont want the twistie route any more.

Its important for me to have momentary on/off and AA or 2*AA size. Having this tailcap clicky should give me instant on/off via tailcap.

Anybody know the size of these?
Are they increasing the lengh much?

Are all of the EagleTac D25 lights being released with the clicky option? I was just about ready to buy the EagleTac D25LC2 Mini in the twisty version, but if there is a clicky version coming in March, I might just wait another month. (I know that another option would be to buy the clicky body separately; that way I could swap them out if I wanted to. Tod at illuminationGear told me that the clicky tubes should be available for about $10 - $12.)

I've been checking these D series lights out for some time now, and the only thing that has stopped me from buying one of these was that it did'nt have the clicky. After finding this thread it was good news to me. I will be picking one of these up with the clicky, it would make a great EDC light.

I am okay with reverse clicky. Its better than NO clicky at all.

Im just concerned the light is going to get longer now.

The clicky model will be slightly longer, which is understandable because of the switch on the tail. The twisty EagleTac D25C2 Mini is about 4 1/4" long, so figure on about 1/4" longer.

what makes this light different from others (which are already the perfect EDC) are *mainly*:
+ its Titanium looks (see Quark Mini AA Ti)
+ its form factor (see Quark Mini AA)
+ its clip (Quark Mini AA doesnt have a clip)
+ its looks (it looks highly attractive -- although i dunno why; competing products iTP, EOSLAMP, Q-Mini pale in comparison)
+ yes, at least it has a clicky (and maybe you can exchange the cover boot!)

Nobody claims that this is a perfect light or the perfect EDC. compared to the Quarks (not the Minis) it lacks important features, which makes the Eagtac Titanium clicky far from perfect:
- the clip is not reversible (see Quark) (you could still clip to the side brim of a baseball cap!)
- it doesnt support the huge set of Fenix LD20 head add-ons (21.5mm series: diffusers, etc.)
- in particular, it doesnt support any kind of diffuser lens or flat diffuser cap (see Eagtac T20, and Eagtac G25C2)
- it has no momentary activation (which is not too bad. see Quark Tactical)
- it goes into unregulated direct drive mode for 14500's (THIS IS BAD. Quark AA has full support for 14500's, buck boost driver: amazing)

So when it comes to functionality and versatility and efficiency, a Quark AA (not the Mini) is still THE BEST light in this size class. It's light-weight, kinda robust, and smallish.

The D-series AA Titanium is even smaller and slimmer, which is nice .. but in actual gain in everyday "usage" the only *main* aspect is:
the increased joy over a most amazingly attractive Titanium clicky flashlight.

The gain is the looks. And its the looks which makes its desirable to purchase. If you already own a Quark, then you certainly dont need the Eagtac imho.

It is a pretty light, I have the D25C Ti but there are a few things holding it back from being a great light. For the price it has a lot going for it though, especially for a Ti light.

Here's a couple things I'd like to see:

1. Regulation on 14500/RCR123's
2. Forward clicky with memory
3. Neutral/warm XML versions in Ti

Personally I like the clip, probably one of the more solid designs out there. I wouldn't think it would tale much engineering for them to design a diffuser cap for it if there was enough interest.

Slight bit of green to it but I like that better than blue... actually a pretty nice tint.

Any up to date news on the release date, I know some was talking about march on the release date, and march is just a couple days away. Wonder if it's up for preorder yet? Any news I like to here about it.

Generally EagleTac announces a new product and specifications about 3-4 week before they take dealer orders.
Then availability follows about 3-4 weeks later - assuming there are no production delays of any sort.

so, when will they ACTUALLY announce it (not talk about announcing it) - don't know.
Once they make an official announcement - how long after will it be available for dealers to order - don't know.

maybe the thread title should be " Eagtac D-series with clicky switch? ". the D25C2 Mini is a twisty. The D25C2 is a clicky. the D25C2 Mini with clicky doesnt exist.
very clever to release the mini's before the clicky's. why? because the minis are shorter ("wow effect" at market introduction). although most would prefer a clicky, many would still buy the minis (in Alu and Ti).

if they had released the clicky's first, then everybody would have bought the clicky's and hardly anyone would consider buying the Minis afterwards .. because who would want a twisty after having bought a nice clicky?

twisties are great for 1x AAA lights. On 1x AA or on Ti's we prefer a clicky, dont we?

I can think of someone that would want the twisty over the clicky...the "survivalist"...Zero chance of switch failure which is the weakest link in the clicky.

As my first LED flashlight, I've got an EagleTac D25A Mini. All I can say is that I really love it and I'm very happy with the twisty action. But then, I've never had a clicky so I cannot compare them.

As for this clicky battery tube sold as an accessory, what would be its approximate MSRP?

The new clicky-version seems to have a user-interface like quarks and additional moonlight mode, so it has to have a new circuit. so if you buy the additional clicky-tube for your twisty, i dont think you will have the full functionality of the new clickys...
