Which phone should I get? Using old AT&T unlimited data plan ...

I have using an very old AT&T unlimited data plan. I know if I switched to iPhone or Android phone, AT&T will bump me *down* to one of their current data plan like $30 for 3GB ...

If I want to keep my current cheap unlimited data plan, which (off contract) phone should I get if I want to upgrade to one that takes good pictures and vid, some gmail and facebook (no heavy web surfing, tethering is a plus) ... ?

Just an FYI, ATT has been throttling its customers who are on the grandfathered Unlimited Data Plan if they go above 2GB.
The throttling will drop the data speeds to a slow crawl at some times.

Just recently I received a text from ATT that a family member (w/ iPhone 4S + unlimited plan) on my family plan is reaching the 2GB limit and will be throttled soon.

Also, in regards to tethering, ATT has plan for that, it is $50 for 5GB + tethering abiity/monthly for smart phones.
