Nice mod! Don't see how it's 90 CRI though. Many of the "high cri" 5mm LEDs have inflated CRI readings. It seems a bit blue and even colder than 5000K to me but maybe it's just the white balance. It's just not possible to have 5000k+ and 90+ CRI at the same time for current LEDs at least.
Looks nice in my Gerber somethingoranother. No hotspot at all, can't vouch for the specs of the output, but it's much more easy on the eyes without the horrible purple/blue hotspot.
Pretty easy mod once I got past the generous application of thread lock.

Cover everything you want to stay anodized and use oven cleaner. Work slowly and carefully! It's not too hard but the fumes are nasty (ask me how I know).
