Yes.
It's not too bad, but if you shake it briskly, you'll hear the batteries. It's not real bad, but it does happen.

The thickness of a "sleeve" required to prevent rattling is really quite small. A plastic sleeve thin enough to do the job would be a fragile little thing (not like the sleeve for running AAs in an MD#). Really, cut a piece of paper to length, roll it up until it fits in the tube and you'll be rattle free. Plus, you'll always have an emergency piece of scratch paper :)

While I'm sure that will do in pinch wouldn't that be kinda messy? A nice plastic reusable tube would be better, no?

check oveready.com, they have delrin battery sleeves (in Batteries and Chargers subsection).
