Can you please explain what "High-Medium-Moonlight with no memory " means? How does it work; does it ALWAYS come-on on High, regardless of where it was when last turned off?

You are correct if you are at ON in any mode for longer than 1 second.

You get full brightness with any single 3.7 Li-ion battery. Single 18650 is highly recommended as the drop in has a 2.8-4.5V working range.

EZ-900 XRE R-2 De-Dome Added

I have a De-Domed XRE R-2. The De-Domed LED does not not work at all with an aspheric lens but does throw very well in a regular reflector.
The hot spot is very tight and bright. There are some rings when wall hunting but it looks good outside.

I just tested the dedome XRE with a 4cm aspheric lens and the beam focus down to a very tiny intense square shape...

Ok... That is good news. I will have to play around with it some more maybe with a larger aspheric. Had tried with a smaller Ahortons's lens and decided I liked it better with a reflector for a pocket thrower in a small Solarforce L2m host.

I am a bit out of touch with LEDs at the moment so maybe you could help me.Which of these will give the brightest, long throwing beam with a decent spill from 1 x 18650 or 2 x CR123?
