Hi,

Does anyone know of anyone on CPF or other that will make custom 18650 packs at a fair price?

I need a few 5s2p packs made with PCMs that can handle ~200w draw. Ideally I'd like to use the aw or Panasonic 3100mah cells. Configuration needs to be two stacks of 5 cells, like image below.

Contact 350xfire or his website tlslights.com. He knows a guy who can professionally tap 18650 at a very fair price.

A 5S PCM is a pretty big thing. Do you have one in mind?

I use exactly the same battery configuration and in the end decided not to use a PCM. The H6Flex driver monitors and regulates the battery, while the smart charger does the same while charging. You may not need a PCM.

I agree. In the past I've used jst-xh balance leads for charging and let the h6flex provide the overall pack low voltage cut off. Acceptable risk to me given the pack is balanced each charge and the discharge is underwater.

This time around I'm using the ampere driver which does not appear to have a low voltage cut off, so feel I need something. If I could get a circuit to do this that may work, but PCM is probably easier to source.

My other interest in a PCM was to build a sealed battery setup, charging through the head to avoid canister floods. I've done this several times and it's great not having to open stuff up.

I was looking at this PCM. My alloy canister is 58mm ID so should fit this tacked onto the side of the pack. Actual draw from this pack with my intended setup is 105w though I figure this give me some margin for future usage.

$20 for a PCB...ouch! I came across this earlier, plus it's big if space is an issue.

I hope you live in the US because Powerizer charges like 'wounded bulls' to international customers. Just done a dummy checkout and the cheapest postage option for your PCB is $80...so $100 for your PCM. I've never used them for that reason.

How about this one on Fleabay?

I just had 2 similar packs custom build (in Belgium) for 100€ each, 7.4V 13Ah with PCM, but haven't received it yet. I haven't checked if it can deliver 200W though since that's not what I bought them for... If you're interested in more info, let me know.

why dont you go with a board made for RC plane. Its loud enought to be heard from a running r/c airplane or helis. There are board with buzz/flash when battery overall voltage is mid/low for the given pack # of cells, there are also circuit that monitor each cell and give cell specific alarm. DX have some of these board for cheap, and i got some other from hobbyking. It connect by the balance plug.

I worked with some of these circuit for my heated undergarment for some time, I know my burn-time but i watch it tru the canister. (350xFire clear can are cool for this purpose)

In your can's back, then place a remote alarm led to warn you of battery trouble from the user side

I looked at the alarms, but thought wasn't too if it would turn off. Eg, I'm shooting idea, trip 15v for example and the buzz starts. If this does not return above that when the load is removed, isn't it going to keep buzzing? If so, that could drive one mad on a long deco.

Warning LED on the can woud be nice, but I've already build two out of alloy pipe (scavenged from old bed) and delrin caps.

My current thinking is to use PCM, just need to source one. Until then, I'll just time my usage.

Ps. The drivers arrived over weekend so I will be soldering the heads together tonight, 16xmls a piece.

when we turn of the light, the LiPoly i use get up a little without load, stopping the buzz. When used in a tight canister, we dont hear the noise.
