Thread: Any Logan models that don't use an optic (and instead use a reflector/lens)

I'm wondering if it will ever be a possibility (or perhaps if it already is a possibility) that I could get a reflector/lens for my Logan SS QTC instead of the plastic optic. Mine has already started to show some scratches from coins, SAK in my pocket, keys, etc. I've also read about the optic potentially melting under hard use. I bought this light for a rugged EDC light and aside from the less than stellar knurling, the optic is my only complaint.

Any ideas on using a reflector and a lens from another light that could be fitted? (i.e - older peak models that have a similar or identical head but with a reflector and lens in place)

Logan optics are covered by a lens. Lenses this large are exposed in a pocket environment and would have the same issue over a reflector. Preventing scratches in this case would require adding a protection lip (making the light longer) or changing to something like sapphire (adding cost).

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't aware there was a lens over the optic. And yah, anything will scratch in the pocket with daily carry.

However, having a reflector + any glass lens is safer from the higher than usual heat experienced at the head when actually using the light. Like I said, one person has sent two Logans back to Oveready because the optic was melting and warping under use. I'm not asking only for the sake of cosmetics.
