Are AW 1100 mAh the best 17500's? Is 1100 mAh the highest capacity?

i think they probably are one of the better brands.
Good to hear. I'm about to order some up. I don't care for the battery rattle in my 1996 SF 9P w/ 16340s. I have an XML U2 drop in rated from 3 to 18 volts in it now, and think I will run two 17500s instead of the three 16340s. I figure the overall length to be about the same, and with the 1mm bigger diameter, perhaps the rattle will quiet down?
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
three Li-Ion 16340 house - a bit - more energy, than two of such 17500s.
--> no real gain
(except for being able to recharge "one set" at once, with a typical mulitformat doublecell charger)
changing to a 1*18650 host would give You more power + a smaller light,
keep the 9P as a spare ...
Er... 16340s have 650 mah, I think, and 650x3 = 1950, 1100x2 = 2200. The 17500s definitely have more capacity.
+ with voltage being closer to Vf of LED, efficiency of driver will be higher too (with just 2 cells), so there are some more "virtual mAh" gained.
You can't add battery capacity like that.
3 x 16340 = 11.1V x 550mah which gives 6.1 Watt hours
2 x 17500 = 7.4V x 1100mah which gives 8.1 Watt hours
More capacity from the 17500's.

You can always trust AW to provide the power you need. I've tried all the ****Fire batteries and.... prefer the AW. They cost more, but they give more. 2 X 17500 is a useful combination.
