*FS: SuperFlashlight III w/SMT upgrade*SOLD*
SuperFlashlightIII upgraded with an Ostar SMT LED and Anti-Roll tail cap housing a McClicky.
Originally, the light engine of the SFIII was press-fit into the head, which was OK for the LUX3 and LUXV LEDs that came in it new but part of the upgrade to the much higher output SMT. the head was re-worked so that the new light engine would thread into the head, creating a much better thermal path.
The Anti-Roll tail was added with a McClicky switch because the original Kroll switch was not up to the task of handling the higher current produced by the SMT.
Battery tube can handle 2 x Cr123 or 2 x R123 or a single 17mm cell.
The SMT provides a nice hot-spot and has good throw. The 3 stages are seperated well, with a nice low level. Tint is on the cool side.
I have had this light since I think August of 06! Still in mint condition, pic taken yesterday. After the SMT upgrade, it was on nightstand duty because of its great low setting!
