Hello CPF
I'am about to make a RoP mod, this is my first mod (Except for changing the bulb to a LED in a maglite 3d) and i dont really know that much about batteries.

I have searched the forum, but I still dont about the 18650's with the 3854H bulb. Some say that it some kind of "soft-start" and some dont mention that.

So my question is: can I use these with the bulb ?

TrustFire Protected 18650 3.7V True 2400mAh Rechargeable Lithium Batteries (2-Pack)

DX:20392

Thanks

Sorry if my english isn't that good, I come from Denmark

The protection circuit in those particular 18650s may not let enough amperage pass to light the bulb, which will draw highest at startup.

Larger 18650s sold as AW or Redilast brands will work. If resistance is low in the light, they may even:poof: the bulb. It's best to rest the batteries before trying, don't use them hot off the charger. Another way would be to use them with the 3854L bulb for a few minutes first, it can handle the higher voltage.

You can find alot of info on this in the incan sub-forum, IIRC it's a sticky.

OKay. Thanks

Thinking of doing 6 AA instead of 18650s. I think its kind of scary sometimes reading about those 18650
