Army researchers have managed to up power density with a new electrolyte, beyond 5V. Be interesting to see when this hits mainstream:

Interesting... With all new battery technologies though, you have to be a bit skeptical until proper tests are carried out that insure safety and reliability, and cycle life.

Also just having high voltage battery is useless...what we need is high power density (high voltage voltage and high amp-hour capacity)

And of course the most important (otherwise it won't be made available): cost effective viability.

I could use a higher voltage battery. UV led's require higher VF's so single cell UV lights are harder to make.
