Link: Direct bonded XM-L emitter to Copper

Based on the reading of the experiment above I went ahead and mounted the brightest XML-U2 I can find on a thick copper PCB and ran it at 6A. I also used thick wires and good thermal adhesive and the results is stunning! NOTICEABLY BRIGHTER than it was at 4A on aluminum PCB thin wires and poor thermal adhesive. I think I am getting 1500 lumen at turn on. I know the lumen will drop some as the light heats up but boy it is bright at turn on! :)

Ye sit is. Copper transfer heat and current much better than aluminum so output increases :)

are you going to build a xeno e03 with the 3a driver and copper :) ? or cause its size might not benefit from the cooper.

Due to its small size I really don't think its worth the trouble for a bit more lumen...

Re: vinhnguyen54 Maelstrom X10

how did you manage to construct this pcb.
did you you remove the top aluminum ' skin' from the old pcb and bond it to the copper piece and then mount the led?
what do you consider a good thermal adhesive?
thanks
