Will you be making more of these? They sound really nice, but it appears I may have missed out on this run. Also, do you know if this would work well in a Solar Force L2P host (as opposed to an L2T)? I've been wanting to buy a blue one, and this would be a great drop-in to use with it!

Any Solarforce host will work well. Just make sure you have a McClicky. I sell them for $7 too if you need them. :-)

I think I have enough parts to make 4-5 more for this run.

So just to be sure, it sounds like if I install this drop-in in a Solarforce host, I won't need to use copper tape or aluminum foil - just install it directly and the fit should be really tight - is that correct? Also, is it a straight-forward process to replace the stock Solarforce switch with a McClicky?

Assuming the answer to both of those questions is yes, I will PP $62 today ($55 for the drop-in plus $7 for the McClicky). Thanks Vinh!

Sorry I didn't make it clear. Wrapping this drop in very very tightly with aluminum foil is mandatory! I made a videos on how to wrap a drop in if you need it. The drop in shoudl be wrap so tight that that you cant pull it out with your hands once inserted. The switch swapping process is very simple. This is a very hot drop in as you can see it's pushed way beyond it's limit. Limit the light to short burst only and turn it off when it gets too hot. I have tested the light running burst of 3-5 minutes at a time with no problem. But no longer than 3-5 minutes burst.

That makes sense Vinh. I already used your video to wrap the last drop-in I bought from you so I'm good. I'll PP you a bit later today with my order. Thanks! . BTW - I don't normally use my lights for more than short bursts anyway and I have other lights if I really need a longer run.

Hey Vinh, any chance to build a 3 mode XM-L Neutral white drop-in as it would just about be perfect drop in for me?
WTB --> vintage Surefire C2/M2/9Z host; round 6P/9P bodies; Ku's SWM V-series 14500/18500 tubes; RPM M6 bezel opening tool

Yes but I think I can squeeze out 1100 LED lumen at best. There will be less solder fill in to save room for the driver. and the drive currrent would be at 4.5A max.

    How about a XM-L U2, 1-mode, medium voltage at 4.2A or 4.5A?

    I'll take it!

Just a question; how much difference will there be between 4.2 and 4.5A? I would like the higher output, but I also need the light to run on CR123A for short bursts (no longer than a minute or two, at most) in case of emergencies. 4.2A is already risky, and I'll stick to that unless that extra 0.3A wouldn't hurt too much.

I select only the whitest and brighest XML-U2 for the 1300 lumen build. There is no noticeable diff between 4.2A and 4.5A. 4A+ are way too high for CR123A period. You can run the light on Medium and Low on CR123A though...High would be like 20 second burst only.

Also for a 3 mode version at 4.5A you will need to add $11. So that would be $66 total. Are you sure?

Hmm... 20 second SHOULD be enough.

I'll take it in the 1-mode, though, if you don't mind, in 4.2A flavor. I have a McC2S that gives a nice low at around 15~20 lumens when pressed halfway with the existing 4.2A T6 setup that I previously got from you. To be honest, low mode is used 98% of the time, and I only unleash the beast once in a while.

    So, to recap;
    XM-L U2
    1-mode, high current, medium voltage
    4.2A
    Smooth reflector

Just tell me the price and I'll send the payment ASAP.

$66. I order XML-U2 in bulk of 30 at a time and I only select the brightest and whitest for this build thread.

I'm pretty sure I won't have to, since all of the drop-ins I've gotten from you performed admirably.

4 freshly poured. Quite heavy pill compared to stock hollow.

3 is taken. If you want the last one let me know. The next build will be in 2 weeks.
