Just as the tittle says! If you want greater throw for your Olight SR series, this is an option. I put a SBT-90 in my SR91 and I love it. Throws much better while keeping the cool white tint. De-dome makes the tint yellowish which I hate very much! I am getting a SR90 and I am going to put a SBT-90 in it too! :)

Nice,
Vinh, how many meters further would it increase for the SR90 if we go with SBT-90 1380L?

I have only tried this SBT $37.17$ 1120 - 1200lm at 9A: Click Here

The other one is too expensive for me so I don't know yet.

The throws increase a lot but I don't have a stock SST-90 LED to compare anymore. The orginal was de-dome. De-dome makes the tint shift to a more neutral tint which I am not fond of. I am getting a SR90 on Monday so I will try the SBT-90 in it and report back. I will also put in the SST-90 from that light in the SR91 and measure the increase in throw.

May be I will just close my eyes and place an order on that $62 highest bin SBT-90 so you guys would know if its worth twice the money... :-(

180 - 260 lumen increase for $25 more hmm........

I did measured the SR91 at 7A so that light is not pushing these LEDs to their potential :-(

These LEDs need to be at 10-12A!! Arghhhh

You FIEND!!!!

Olight SR series are pretty cool but I Strongly suggest the TN31 for power to size factor!

I have reasons to belive that my SR90 with SBT throws even ever than the out going SR90UT. Same drive current and LED + larger reflector should = greater throw. I bought my SR90 as mod and sell project but after the mod I like it so much that I no longer want to sell it.

stock sst90 - 10250lux@approx 12-13 feet (see notes below)
sbt-90 - 15610lux@same distance :drool::clap::rock:52% INCREASE IN BEAM INTENSITY!

great care was used in taking these measurements, specifically with keeping the flashlight the exact same distance from the light meter... i took an average of 15 tests, and threw out any numbers that looked abnormally high or low (more than 25% standard deviation) the light was placed approx. 12-13 feet with the tail resting against the wall of my bedroom and the aperture of the light meter was taped to the corner of my dresser. measurements were taken at turn on

The result was so good I got rid of my $37 SBT and went ahead and ordered the $62 SBT for mine too. Do it right or do it twice LOL

i just easily beamed this thing across a 700 yard lake... according to google earth... not even the deerelight dbst aspheric could light up the trees that far away... it is quite a hazy night here so a lot of the light was visible in the air... good night for lightsabering but difficult to see anything past 400yd clearly... except the sbt90 sr90 that is! on a side note... i am going to thin the heard soon... i have too many multi xml setups lol

I changed my mind on selling my SR90 SBT too! I like the throw that much! :)

Re: vinhnguyen54 Olight SR90/SR91 SST-90 Swap to SBT-90 for Greater Throw Service

i am very interested. i have a few questions though.
the sr90 drives at 7.2-6.6 amps according to some specs i found. you say these leds give 1380 lumens at 9amps, and that it should be driven at 10-12 amps, so how many lumens are you getting with one of these in the sr90? do you have a way to get an exact number?
how much brighter is the sr90 with this led in it than the stock sst90? because i thought the sr90 with the sst90 in it was doing a little under 1500 lumens?
how much further does it throw?
would it be worth more to put it in another host light that can drive it at 12amps? or is there anyway to get the olight to do that?
and finally would the sst90 that your removing still be usable? id like to make another light with it.

thank you!

Re: vinhnguyen54 Olight SR90/SR91 SST-90 Swap to SBT-90 for Greater Throw Service

SBT-90 is not brighter than the SST-90. It just throws 50% more with overall less lumen. I don't have a sphere to measure the overall lumen. The removed SST-90 is great as a direct drive for 26650 host. I removed the SST-90 from jmpaul320, de-dome it and made him a nice throwey P60 drop in.

This is the mod only if you want more throw not more lumen.

ok i get it. so this set up wont throw as far as the sr95ut right? because isnt that reflector specifically designed for this emitter? and do you thin its worth it since its only being pushed at 6.6amps instead of 12? is there any way to make it driven harder in this host? do you have outdoor beam shots to compare the sr90 before and after? thanks man

Re: vinhnguyen54 Olight SR90/SR91 SST-90 Swap to SBT-90 for Greater Throw Service

i would think the smooth reflector in the sr90 is better for throw than the sr95ut's reflector... the loss of lumens to me is barely noticeable as its mostly in the outer edges of the spill
