Default Phillips led bulbs now showing manufacturing cost savings

As you probably remember, the first gen of theses bulbs utilized 18 rebel emitters. The new 400 lumen unit uses 3x2 emitters on an FR4 board. The new 800 lumen unit uses 3x3 rebels on the ceramic board. I havent measured currents yet.

Do you mean each "lobe" only has 3 LEDs instead of 6? Interesting. Too bad they aren't charging less for them.

Actually, yes, they are charging less. they used to be about 40$ and are now down to 12 for fr4 and 15 for the 3 led per lobe.

Where can you find them for this price? Home Depot still shows $25.
