Really? I would've thought adding the crenelations would add at least 1-2mm to the length. I didn't realize there was enough existing material to work with.
Anyway, it occurs to me that the tail would benefit from a similar treatment, knife-edging the outer circumference at least, even if not crenelating it afterwards, because the rounded shape of the tail was originally a perfect match for the rounded bezel, and now they're somewhat mismatched.
