Received my hi cri tri edc today. Its one of the smoothest light i own especially around the button. Its a pleasure to hold in the hand. Gorgeous clip too, looks better than in the picture.

One thing bothering me is the whining sound at low and med. Anyone know how to fix this? Or is it the same with all 3 mode with memory drivers?

I think you are the first person I know of that can hear the whining of the 7135 driver. You ears must be sensative to that part of the sound wave the driver produces. Unfortunatley there is really nothing you can do about it.

I can hear it quite loud especially at medium mode. Maybe im too sensitive. I have the same problem with download's pocket rocket that utilises the same driver.

No problem. Other than that its perfect. Nice tint. And i still cant get over how smooth it feels in the hand.

I have a tri edc that i got 3 months ago. I never noticed a whine and just checked again. I cant hear one at all. I have a d10 that has the whine so i know what the whine is but definitely dont have it with my tri. i dont know.

I don't mind the whine sound ,it just act as a reminder for me that i am using Med mode .
Fyi - I tested on both AW imr 18350 and ultrafire 18350 and both have the same result . I would describe the whine sound very similar to my surefire L2 on high mode
