Default Cutco Kitchen Knives?

My wife has a few Cutco kitchen knives that I'm having trouble sharpening. I used the small Cutco pull thru sharpener but noticed it left VERY rough knife edge. Now I have a Spyderco Sharpmaker, but still can't get the Cutco blade edges to be smooth. It's almost like the metal flakes off as I sharpen. I have no problem using the Sharpmaker with my Kershaw Onion and Chive, and other knives. Anyone know what the deal is?

You can return Cutco knives to Cutco for free sharpening or free replacement for life. I assume it's their choice.
send to:
Cutco
116 East State Street
Olean,Ny.14760
.
.
or call:
1-800-633-8323
.
The last time my wife did this Cutco replaced some of the knives. I hope this helps.

Thanks Hoghead. Actually I'm aware of Cutco's sharpening/replacement policy. But like most guys, I always try to solve the problem myself first.
