Everyone will agree when I say just any panasonic 18650 protected based cell is great. I myself like Orbtronic ones, they are 3100 ma, with around 2200 ma from 4.2 to 3.5 volts which is better than other brand based cells. I believe the eagletacs are based on the same cell too. The only difference between the orbtronic and eagletac is price and protection used(negligible).

I found some on sale on the dealer's corner (CPFMP), a pair of new Xstar 3100mAh 18650 for less than $25, no limit ;)

I have both the EagleTac and Orbtronic 3100 mAh protected batteries. Both are Panasonic batteries, and both have been completely reliable.

Keeppower 3100s, CalliesKustom 3100s, Redilast 3100s, International Outdoors 3100s, AW 3100s, EagleTac 3100s, Orbtronics 3100s and the Xtar 3100s are all based on the unprotected Panasonic NCR18650A cells, which are well regarded.

You can get the Keeppower, Orbtronics and ETs in the '2 for $25-$26 range. AWs, Redilast and Callies are closer to $20+ per cell, FWIW.

I went with EagleTac 3100s, but have some bare Pannie cells that I run in my Fenix PD32 and ZL SC-600. For the Klarus XT-30, which uses two 18650s, you definitely want to go with protected cells.

Ok, looks like a Panasonic protected cell it is. I would like to support the forum vendors, anyone have a good one in mind that people haven't had problems with? I ordered both the xt30 and rs11 from goinggear.com. Are they a vendor?

No, those are naked (unprotected) Pannie 2400s.

Panasonic has just released the 3400s, but they're spendy right now due to fact that they're just hitting the scene. 3100s, 2900s, don't know if Pannie made a 2600 cell and probably those 2400s. So a few generations old.

Those are also unprotected cells which is the way Panasonic, Sanyo, Samsung and LG usually ships them. Aftermarket companies like Xtar, AW, Orbtronic et al, will then add their own proctection PCB after the fact.

If you sign-up for CPF Marketplace, there is a list of vendors that offer special discount codes to CPF members. It is located on a sticky ("CPF Specials" webpages/dealers) in the "Good Deals" forum.

And yes, Going Gear is a CPF vendor and they offer a 10% CPF discount code.

Not to hijack.. but in general, does that stand for all Li-Ions or just the 18650s?
