New to this and keep getting conflicting answers. My question is what is the Probability that I will Damage my 1xaaa keychain flashlight using a 3.6v 10440 battery? I am curious to try and see for myself how much brighter they would be. Keep hearing of what a dramatic difference it is. Would the damage, if likely, only limited to a high mode if it is a 3 mode light or single mode light? Could I safely use it on low and med modes?

I have:

1. Fenix ld01
2. Illuminati ca al
3. Fenix e01 and 05
4. Dag iii
5. Itp e3 eos

Anyone have real life first hand experience with using 10440 s in these small lights?

Thanks will give it a shot. Forgive my ignorance but are there batteries that are higher voltage than the standard 1.5v li ons but less than the next higher voltage I have seen (3.6) t hat would fit a aaa size light?

There are none that I'm aware of. Some people claim the nominal voltage of L92 lithium batteries is 1.7v but the data sheet states 1.5v. Then there are the Eneloops which are actually lower voltage at 1.2v but have the advantage of being rechargeable like the 10440 (but with a different type of charger).

I have #1, #3, and #5 from your list. I run a 10440 without any problems in the LD01 and A3, but will not run a 10440 in a E01 or E05. I've read about people already trying it on here (search for it, that's what I did and you'll find some good info) and each case they said it didn't help in the brightness at all and in fact a couple of them died from using the 10440.

Can't say anything about #2 or #4 from your list.

4A (AAAA) batteries are too small. A 10440 won't fit. Buy a light specifically designed for the 10440 battery and you'll be glad you did! Buy it from a good dealer who will replace it if you have problems. My 10440 lights are lifesavers. Small, bright, useful.

Excuse me, but could you please document your claims regarding death using 10440 in AAA flashlights.

I am confused I thought we were on AAA but you are talking about AAAA.

i have been running my itp a3 eos upgraded version on a 10440 li-ion for 6 months with good results. I use an IMR (high drain) battery i bought from an ecigarette store since the current pulled is likely a lot more than would be safe on a regular li-ion

Any suggestions on reputable dealers who sell those 10440-based lights? I'm guessing possibly lighthound, but I'm not sure.
