A few months ago I had mod my working light. I put a WW XM-L T5 into a L1 head. I had seen some of this mods before, so I knew that there will be a gap in the head if you use a XM-L on a board. So I decided to use bare emitter. Here are some pics of the mod

I use this head in DD with an E1e body. Due to the low vf it puts 330mA from a fresh CR123.

Thank you for reading

Looks fine :). The thermal transfer isn't ideal, but will work ok for low drivecurrents.

Although, isn't arctic silver conducting electricity? Might want to check that :), maybe not enough to short the battery, but maybe it is enough to reduce you efficiency.

Hi Epsilon,

thermal transfer is good. The LED sits direktly on the heatsink. The layer of arctic silver ist very thin (not as thick as it looks on the foto).

Arctic Silver doesn´t conduct electricity, you can use it to insulate the Seoul P4 LED;)

That means, the head is used on a E1e Body with a cr123 battery in direct drive. There ist no circuitboard.

Sorry for my bad english.
