I was curious about that flange because on Carclos site each optic lists specifically either square flange or round flange or no flange. So I thought it might serve some purpose.

I think what they are calling the flange is the top "plate" as they make a square shaped 10621 as well (doesn't explain no flange though)

Also wanted to ask, do all these optics have light hairline scratches on them? I notice them after putting it in a light. The glass definitely isn't scratched so it has to be the optic. Not a huge deal, just wanted to ask and see if it's a common thing

Fine micro scratches are a common thing unfortunately, courtesy of the factory. Here is Carclo's own disclaimer;

"Disclaimer - Optics & Holders
Please note that flow lines, weld lines, surface scratches and small black or white inclusions within the lenses are acceptable if the optical performance of the lens is within the specification described..."

I have a similar disclaimer in the first post. I recently sent 2/3 of an order of 10621's back to the supplier (internationally), because they were just not good enough. My feeling is, If they are going to call it an optic, it shouldn't be scratched. That all being said, please pm me if you have any concerns

I have no issues with it, because the sick one in my light looks like that too, just wanted to confirm this is a common issue with all the other optics. Thanks for your concern

Cubebike and emu124, thanks for letting me know I am both in awe, and disgusted with the post office at the same time. I've been getting the odd random package back telling me "not enough postage" yet another mailed the same day goes though fine

KuanR, even the ones I received initially in their factory packaging had the very light scratches but once installed and deep down below the bezel, I can't look at them at an acute enough angle to see. The ones I sent back had all travelled together in a plastic bag, some face to face and had too much scratching (certainly no measurable performance difference though). The ones I've been getting from Illumination supply though have been very nicely packaged pretty sure these are made of polycarbonate like the lens of some sunglasses though these have no hard coatings at all.

Hi Guys, just a couple of updates.
I'm CONFIDENT my order of 10507's will be here this week based on email from the dealer

The ongoing saga of 10621's that arrived too scratched up to use has ended. I don't think I had specifically mentioned the dealers name (Cutter electronics) but since they really came through and took care of things, I wouldn't hesitate to buy again if I couldn't find things domestically. Craig at Illumination supply in CA. has most everything though and has been flawless to deal with.

That all said, I'm well stocked again on 10621 quads, 10508 triples, and 10507 triples within a few days

Hi there. I'd like 1 or 2 optics for a Mac tri Edc. He uses the clear 10507 right? Does he ever use the frosted 10508?

Hi Gunga,
All the pics I've seen show a clear optic so must be a 10507. Being a custom light I'd bet he would outfit it with the optic of your choice, 10507 through 10511 all have the same physical dimensions.

Pretty sure there were beamshots of all the tri optics in mattaus' triple sale thread. This evening I could find the link easily but I'm working off the phone now. The 10508 is noticeably wider with less throw, enough so that I have no real need for any of the even wider optics (10509+).

Sorry Gunga, I didn't answer both your questions earlier. Was in Home Depot trying to figure how much more insulation I need (hmmm, no "itchy" emoticon). I have 10507's ready to ship (as well as 10508's and 10621 quads), with a days notice.

Gunga, I'm not going to be stocking the 10511, unless you have access to some in North America but as always, I will drill and ship back to you any optic, just knock the retail price of the optic off of my price. In a small padded envelope they will go as a "non-machinable" letter (depending on the mood of your particular postal person).

Ryan, replied to your email. For others though, the 10622/23 I've only seen available from Australia which complicates things for me in the quantities I'll likely be dealing in. As mentioned, I do have 10621's, and a single 10622. 10624's I can get in a week (frosted wide 24mm quad) from Illumination.
