    Default Haiku, PWM rates, changes?

    Hey all.

I have an XRE Haiku (now nicely modded to XML) with somewhat noticable PWM (shake light head, look at emitter etc). I also noticed this when I was looking at a High CRI Haiku. I have been informed that there might have been a change in the drivers at some point to reduce/eliminate the PWM.

Does anyone know about this? Has anyone measured the PWM rates?

Older McGizmo 3V light engines had noticeable PWM. In the newer light engines, the PWM is too fast to see.

Can you define "older"? How much was the change? Any actual frequency numbers?

I never notice it in my XP-G Haiku, although it's supposedly there. Maybe I'm just not sensitive to it.

Older = before Don said he would be using an upgraded driver in new flashlights.

XR-E Haikus are all too old to have the upgraded driver.
