    and go just ONE step further . . . .

    Have a built-in Audio Microphone,
    to enable these streetlights to pin-point location of Gunshots, via triangulation.


    Oh, and how 'bout a Surveillance Camera on each one ?

    Since you've already got yer' light source "built-in".
