    Arrow **NEW** Fenix TK15(S2)

Fenix has updated the TK15. There are three differences between the new version and the old version.
*the LED has been updated from R5 to S2, improving the performance of TK15.
*there is a tiny change in the shape near the side switch, making tk15(s2) easy to operate, even with gloves.
*the tk15(s2) features dual recoil absorbing springs, increasing the impact resistance, while tk15(R5) with one spring on the tail.

Damn it man, I just got my old TK15 to the point where it looked fairly beat up. Now I'm going to have to start all over again.

I'm still trying to find what Fenix's logic behind this. It is not as bright as the TK21 and almost the same size....maybe it will be a bit cheaper?

It must put more power to the led also? That is to much of an increase for R5 to S2. I wonder Why they didn't go G2 or when they will, especially for throwers like this.

Some people like more throwers. I kind of fit in this category, when I go on a run at night and if im going into a real dark area sometimes a bit more throw comes in handy to see whats ahead. Also, it has a clip! BTW I'm looking online and the prices are around $80....

Agreed, I prefer XP-G lights because they throw better in the same size packge. The TK21 is a little too bulky for my taste and it's nice that I have the option between the two of them.

That is a good point. The XP-G2 is also cheaper than the XP-G S2. I am hoping more manufactures will start using the XP-G2.

At first I didn't notice this thread because I didn't know it's an upgraded TK15. Interesting; it throws almost like E40. But with much brighter spill of course. Compared to my old TK10 the difference really will be significant! But then it will possibly be upgraded again with a G2...

The S2 in the TK15 would be the same as the R5. The only difference is that it will have a little more lux and lumens. The jump is minimal for those who recently purchased the R5 version.

The big jump would occur if they used the New XP-G2 LED. You would certainly notice the difference.

Oh ok, yeah I've had the R5 for almost a year now, just needed to know if this version was worth a look.

    Thanks.

Because I made the decision to soon discontinue my flashlight addiction for a few years I ordered(among several other lights) TK15 S2. Will receive it next week.
By the way I just want to praise the great service of Fenix store. Short before bedtime I placed the order. Next morning I have recevied a mail with the message that the package is SHIPPED. That's really great!

Yeah, Fenix is lagging here. Who cares about one flux bin?

Lagging? XP-G2 is new, available in limited quantity, manufacturers need some time to get them, design and test new models, start production, the whole marketing thing etc.

The XP-G2 is meant to replace the XP-G without any of those things you mentioned except for the availability factor. That's how I understood it at least.

A few days ago I received TK15 S2. Short impression: very nice light with good hold and great throw; close to E40 but with much brighter spill. The tint is creamy white(maybe I was lucky in the tint lottery) and the hotspot is even without any noticable hole. It has a useful corona, more than E40. I find it a great light and the brightness modes are well spaced. The side dimmer button works flawless with a distinct click. I actually don't find any drawback with my example. Recommended!
