[FONT=&quot]I got this laser about two weeks ago and it is very cool. When you point at walls you will see a purple/violet dot.

Try shining it at fluorescent and phosphorescent things. You'll find lots of things that have interesting reactions to the 405nm photons. I found that my light switches all kind of glow, and not by design, and peanut butter even has very feint, red phosphorescence.

Be careful with it, though. Many commonly available <5mW 405nm pointers are actually over that <5mW output specification.

You can buy it from the internets.

Search for 405nm 5mW laser pointer. 405nm is that wavelength, near UV. 5mW is supposed to be the optical power output, in 1/1000s of a watt (milliwatt).

A fine laser in low price

his is a fine built blue laser. It produces a beautiful, although quite thick, blue-purple dot and it is very economic too! I'm still running it with the crappy no-name batteries it came without any signs of low output. The beam is also visible enough if you dim the room lights!
