Sorry if I wasn't clear. The lack of low power and the strobe were what was keeping me from ordering the v2. Now that it was solved with the CS, I went ahead and ordered the CS instead of one of the alternatives I was looking at.
Being a newbie, I wasn't aware of all the channels/geographic coverage. Hopefully ordering from IO won't be a problem - it does appear to be shipping from China.
Also looks like I missed out on some goodies![]()

Yeah, that's right, Hank (from International Outdoor) is a reputable seller. You can count on it. I get all my lights from him.
personally i would go with md-lightsourse because they are in the US and cheaper and you get free batteries.

depends on where you are actually. if youre in the US, get from Madecov, if youre in the asia-pacific (like me) get from Hank or even from Andy at Crelant. Either way, you will receive the light and need not worry about the vendor.
I like my V2, seems like a ver high quality light to me. Strobe in the mix sucks but not a huge deal.

Is it me or does anyone feel like a gray flashlight with a black collimating head is going to look weird?
not so bad. it just might take getting used to.

Ordered a new 7G5CS with collimation head from madecov (aka MD-Lightsource)
Sorry did'nt read all the post but does this light out throw the the new T40 cs ? Thanks
probably but no one really knows yet but with the collimation then well hell yes lol.
Got my 7G5CS on wednesday from md-lightsource (it took only 3 days from order time)and I have to say this thing is amazing the tail cap threads are anodized which I thought was a plus, there are some things I noticed that I thought I would share. The anodizing is really soft first off second the ramping is really un-smooth at the higher levels but it's not that bad and last is the reflector has a couple Imperfections on it but they are really hard to see so that shouldn't matter. Overall I am very pleased with this light and if anyone has any questions I will try my best to answer them.

How is the beam? Throw?
Anodizing is type II
Not my first choice, but it is easier to do a different color other than Black and keeps the cost down.
In god we trust.........all others are suspects
There are no problems in life that can not be solved with high explosives or small arms
Too many new lights to list
yeah the anodizing is not the best but it works fora somewhat budget light and as for the beam and throw they are really nice with both heads.
Question about the threads: does this mean one can unscrew the tail cap a bit to insure that it is not unintentionally activated? I just bought a v2 myself and overlooked the no anodizing issue in the reviews. I need a light I can throw in an equipment bag without having to worry about it coming on.
Thanks for your help.
Sam
yes that is exactly what that means.
I'm unable to locate a pressure pad for this bad boy....Anyone able to find one that works successfully ?
Cheers
The ramp-up and -down is indeed a bit odd - a few slow steps, then a rapid smooth descent, and the same on the way up. I'm not always sure that it's at full bright. The anodizing does seem soft - the surface is almost slippery. And I have a bubble or two in the reflector, but I think they're small enough to not impact the overall performance. It certainly does light up the night, out-throwing anything else I own. Between this and a new sc600, plus a couple smaller AAA(P1A), AA(I-mini), and 2xAA(P100A2) lights, I think my shopping spree will end for a little while.

Yeah my flashes so I know it's on high and also has some of those small bubble in the reflector.
How are people liking the Neutral Versions VS the Cool Version? I'm torn...I like neutral lights, but i want a lot of POWER, how nice is the Neutral tint on this compared to say a Zebralight H51W or Malkoff M61W...those are NICE.....Is this comparable in terms of tint??
