Hi folks!*
I'm needing 2 flashlights with the following requirements :
My mother : emergency situations when the power goes out where she lives. *Needs to be a 'standard' battery format like AA/AAA and have good low light battery life as she usually spends her time reading while the power is out. *Also needs to have a good light for general wandering around trying to do stuff. *No requirement for a strobe or clip although clip may be a useful addition. *She has said that she DOES NOT want one with a blue tinged light.
Myself : solely for work use and wouldn't get used for more than a couple of mins total each day. *Needed for doing walk-round checks on trucks & trailers at night in a pitch black yard and also for shining in the back of 45ft trailers to see if they're empty so perhaps something with a decent throw would be useful here. *Would prefer standard AA power as I already have a charger for those, but I'm open to suggestions if there are advantages to using other battery types.
Budget is no more than £20/each incl shipping costs (~ $31) and I would prefer to source from the UK although not essential.
I did see a few reviews of the Balder SE-1 and battery life seems reasonable there but it's a bit out of my price range at £24 here in the UK ($38). *The other one I looked at was the Xeno E03 but low light batt life seems to be extremely poor according to the reviews and there seems to be huge amounts of flood but not much throw, at least on AAs anyway.
Anything else I should be considering, folks?
Thanks.*![]()
