Tri-EDC with XM-L emitters?

Is it possible to make a tri-XM-L EDC? If not, why not? This is probably obvious, but I don't know enough to know why. I assume it would draw too much current or something.

You could drive it at any current you like - I think the biggest issue is space. You could cram 3 XM-L's in there, but there's be no optic that would work.

I didn't even think about that. That makes sense. If an optic were available, or could be made, would 3 XM-Ls eat through batteries more quickly than 3 XP-Gs (on the brightest setting)? What would be the difference in OTF lumens? Would it be significant?

What would the benefits be of XM-Ls over XP-G2s? How much OTF lumens are you looking for? How much tailcap current do you think you could max out at?

Note that I'm actually asking, not being judgemental! :D

Truthfully, at the drive currents that you could achieve in a light of this size, I think that the XP-G2 would be a better bet.
