Got my xml dropins today. Wow. Exactly what i was looking for. Somehow brighter than i was expecting. Great doin business with you.
I had Vinh swap some XPE2 4000K emitters into a few of my lights &
I just had to post & let everyone know that the tint is AWESOME. Not too yellow or orange.
It's like a slightly warmer 219 & I actually prefer it to the 219.
Oh yeah and the throw is great even in my quad & mini123![]()
Nice :-)
How long can I stay on high mode with a 18650 and a drop-in XM-L2 6500K 4.5mA?

Thank you for the answer, I use a 6P bored (Oveready).

I'll stay a very short time on high mode, then move on medium.

Vinh - can you get xml2 s6 7a2 high cri?
If you order from me. Copper PCB and Solder filled is done by default. You do not need to ask for it. Unless you prefer aluminum PCB and no solder fill to cut down on weight :-P, then do let me know. :-)
Hey Boss did you get my e mail with the final 2 drop ins, from my last order? "one speeds"
I have an XM-L S6 7a2 Hi CRI (first XM-L version) and I'm not all that taken with it. It's very warm, a bit murky with none of the clarity of the 219 and seems under driven to me. On the other hand, the XM-L2, 5000K @ 3.6A in a LOP. reflector has the most beautiful tint I've ever seen, lots of light and a great Moonlight mode and, of course, it's made by Vinh. I'm sure one of the above mentioned XM-L2's would give you more joy! Maybe one at 4000K, if Vinh has any left.
I don't think that the CRI. of the XM-L is any different to the standard warm XM-L; to these 'old' eyes, anyway and it is redish, moreso than a 6P incan, in fact.
Good Luck!
I have 2 drop-ins with the S6 7A2 3200K 90CRI emitter; a D26 and a D36, and they're right up there with my favorites. I love the tint! Of course, I had my old eyes rejuvenated with new lenses recently, and see things more clearly.
IIRC, there's a new XM-L2 Hi CRI emitter coming soon.
I agree that it does look a bit orange - but when I shine it at my wood floors and objects with a broad range of colors (paintings on wall etc) I can tell the colors have more depth and appear to be "true"
its really not that huge of a difference.... its just kind of cool to have one in my collection
but of course nothing can come close to a nice wa1185 or osram 64458 with 100 cri![]()
Yes, I'd like an XM-L2 4500K, LOP reflector, 1250mA max drive current, 2.7-6v driver, UI = HML (+memory), fully potted, for a SolarForce host.
Regular "low", not moonlight "lowlow".
Needs to be able to run on 1x 18650 Li-Ion (3.7-4.2v) OR 2x CR123A (6v).
Please let me know when this will be available & when to pay ....
Thanks!
