I'm a newbie here, thanks for all the great info in this site. I just ordered a sandwich for my mini AA light. Look forward to doin that.

I have an old Tekna Micro Light that uses 2 N size batteries. So it's 3 volts, but the light output is horrendous. Not at all bright and quite yellow. What can I do to spiff it up? Can it be converted to 1x123 or 1AA? Or is it not worth the time and effort to hop it up?

Thanks

I have one of those also. Keep it as a zipper pull on my soft breifcase. Not great light by todays standard but it is a good place to store 2 backup N batteries for the Nano-Mate I got from Lambda.

If the Tekna beam is more yellow than a normal small incan bulb, maybe it just needs new batteries. Tried changing them?

Simplest mod I can think of is replace the bulb with a red or orange LED and resistor limiter. Should get quite long runtime on the two N's.
