Hello! I'm new here and I've been building myself a HID dive light out of a 35Watt Automotive Bulb.

Here's a picture of the bulb that I am using. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41ruf8NjOxL._SS500_.jpg

Here's my problem! I can't get it to fit inside the Ultrafire C8 I am using! Is there anyone who's had any success in building this bulb into a light? Ideally I'd have an even larger reflector (100MM) but anyone who's had any success with this would really help me out! (The rest of the build is going fine so far).

35W with a 100mm lens is a perfect compromise between size/weight and output.

Have a read of this thread

Some pointers since these were built. The Colt Narva spotlight used for the reflector is a poor choice as the glass will cave in below 20Mts. Source a 6V incandescent torch with a spot beam.

Make sure the ballast is on the outside of the torch. Obviously waterpoof the seals but water is a perfect heatsink as it gets hot. Plus it protects the batteries from deteriorating through overheating.
