I was changing the oil in my lawn mower today, and a thought crossed my mind. how long would a lawn mower last if you filled the crankcase back up with 2 cycle oil instead of regular oil? i've always used Pennzoil SAE 30 for many years in all my lawn mowers, and i just wondered, how long would a lawn mower last if instead of 4 cycle oil, what would happen if instead you filled it up with 2 cycle oil (the oil that goes into gas for weedeaters and chainsaws)
true, it's thinner that regular oil, but i'd say it's better than nothing at all.
or in this case, what if you drained all the oil out of the crankcase to where it's bone dry, and then put 2 cycle/gas mix gas in the tank and ran it like that?
again, i have no intention to do this, i was just curious.
