I've been wanting to try this, but thought I'd seek advice before damaging a WA bulb...

Would a WA1185 run in a Streamlight TL2?
The WA bulb is great in a Magcharger (NiCD 6v), so would it also be possible with CR123 X 2 @ 6v.
The bi-pin socket in the TL looks like it will accomodate the bi-pin WA bulb.

Thanks

Have you tried 1185 with 6V?
Are you sure you mean 1185?
Just that that bulb works well on 3 LION cells so therefore 2 cells would be less than "great"

WA1185 is a 9.6 volt, 3.2 Amp bulb.
1- Pair of primary CR123 can not supply that kind of current and will sag down to 2.1 volt per cell. So bulb will see only 4.2 volt which is way under requirement.
2- Socket of TL-2 is designed for G2 bulb while WA1185 is G4
3- WA1185 envelope has diameter of 7.1mm while TL-2 bulb envelop has diameter of 4.5mm therefore WA don't fit in TL-2 reflector.

Best choice for you is 1499 or 1794 using pair of IMR 16340 but run time will be very short.

You may get some idea from
here.

Chodes- My mistake... I meant WA1160 instead of the WA1185.

FiveMega- (How cool, a reply from FM!) I tried a quick fit test, and the pin sockets of the TL2 will hold the WA1160 bulb, with the reflector in place.
No light though on cr123s...
