Hello everyone.

Im currently testing another custom build i've recently finished in the lathle, its a MK-R J2 driven by a h6cc from taskled, im driving it at 1200 mA so it should do about 1700 lumen and using a 4º optics.

I dont have any underwater shots, but i'll love to hear some of your opinions.

Cheers!!

Nice machining!

Which refelctor or optic did you use?
What are the inner and outer diameter of your lighthead?

Four squares would be perfect focus with a good aspheric lens.
Now you need to de focus it just a bit to blend the image

Well now that the short answer are out. At 1.25 it made next to no heat even when on for a long time. At 2a It got warm. I ran it for 20min at a time. Have no way to quantify your question I can say it makes less heat than an sst90 at 8.4A.

Here is the build.

Ok, so it should be ok at 2amps using it with a good sink.

Any guess on the Lm figures at 2 amps or more?

As you increase the current, the heat dissipation increases and the efficiency decreases. These are rated for 1.25A maximum. I suspect you will get about 50% more light compared to 1.25A. It will probably burn out the LED much faster. Solution: use multiple MK-R chips at 1.2A and get about 1500 lumens per chip!

I tested the MK-R at 2Amps at it gets VERY hot, even in underwatter conditions i dont think its safe to dive with a primary light like that... so now i'm testing a MK-R dedomed version
