hello, i am trying to build a tron identity disc replica for a costume and my original plan was a rather dismal failure. everything worked but the LED strip i got wasn't nearly bright enough. so i went and got a selection of super bright LED to put in. i have a decent hang on building a few parralell circuits and running off a 12v battery (one of the really little ones you find atradio shack) so i know i can do it that way. what i WANT to do itto wire in the 12vdc inverter i have. its radio shack number 2760341 for those who need more specific info than i know to give right off but suffice to say that its 12vdc in and 160vac max and 1 watt max. i was wondering how i could go about using this so i can run it on a battery (or two perhaps) when i want to pretend im a kid again and dress up in my various costumes at conventions, or have it plugged in as a lamp (or nightlight depending on brighness) for now im just going to go with the basics and after the upcoming Convention in a few days i will look into rewiring it to add the inverter. if i geta useable answer before then i will use it. i have a wide variety of resistors.

Hey there,
You should look into EL wire in my opinion.
They make tons of cool clothing stuff.
Here is a source for you where you'll find a couple videos and some supplies.

Now, with that being said, I'm not sure what power supply they use. but I've seen some rather cool suits done in the past like these.

And I hope this will help you in your quest:

Good Luck.

1 watt just won't be very bright, no matter the voltage. I think right now your little 12V battery is the limit. It's probably a stack of little alkaleak coin cells. Just for kicks, wire up your same disk to nine or ten alkaleak (Alkalines leak) AAs and see if it's better.
