Re: WTS: TK75vn KillerThrow Version (XM-L2 Dedome Burn In)

As far as I know...

Burn in is a method to apply heat to the LED in repetition until the forward voltage of the LED increases. The LED will require more voltage to light up but will be able to producess greater brightness at the top end. Thus moonlight could be lost but since the T75vn Lowest mode is far from moonlight this is not affected.

Many including me burn in SST-90s back in the days for similar results.

masha did this with a sst90 by blasting it with like 15+ amps to lower the foward voltage... worked wonders

The first 2-3 mode would be lost if we do burn in too hard in the Tn31vn. So this is not ideal.

Just for my understanding, the burn in process is a one time effort and permanent? Or the effect will wear off over time?

Re: WTS: TK75vn KillerThrow Version (XM-L2 Dedome Burn In)

I realize this probably isn't the conclusion you were expecting but looking at those beam shots I like the TK75vn 5000K Dome On the best. It has the best tint and a good full beam. The KillerThrow is impressive, but it doesn't "kill" the K40vn IMHO, and at long range I find the hot spot of the K40vn is large enough already.

This light is not a K40vn killer in terms of throw. It does kill the K40vn in terms on lumen though. It is it own beast really. I also love the 5000K dome. That one is a Must Have just like this one is. :)
