A new 2600mAh battery from Xtar, this time it is called 18650, instead of 18700. This does not mean it is 5 mm shorter, it is only about about 1 mm shorter.

This is very nice discharge curves with good tracking and full capacity at any current.

The current limit is just above 6A. Remember that it will be lower with continuous load.

Excellent test review. HKJ!

"The current limit is just above 6A." mean that protection circuit kicks in at about 6A discharge current?

For short term loads it will trip above 6A, but I doubt you could do a full 6A discharge, the protection would probably kick in after some time.

The XTAR store is just minutes away from where I live, so it's super convenient to just pop over there and grab these!). I've got about a dozen of these batteries in various lights, and I'm really pleased with them :)

I'm curious as to this point:

  • Innovative structure design, ensures impact-resistant, effectively protects the battery

Do you have any clue as to what this is? Is it a normal steel 18650 tube or something else?
