Well guy's here is my latest Franken Surefire. I call it the M3 Midget. The name seems to fit. Basicaly just a M962 lamp housing with a Z46 head that has been converted to LED. I like to use the 35mm reflector from DealExtreme for the start. A P60 pill with a XML-U3 in cool white was my choice. And of course had to use one of those copper MCPCB we all love! Driver is a cheapie Chi but it works alright. I will change it out at some point. The UM007 tailcap was gutted to accept the innards of one of my Z41 left overs from a McClicky swap.
Had to use the spare boot from my K40 since the UM TC needed a 20mm boot. A 16mm looked like you know what. I'm using a 16340 for power right now. A 17500 fits but its obviously too long. If I had a M982 lamp housing I could fit a 17670. Gotta figure something out for a bit more juice. And the odd part is it doesn't feel to bizzare when holding. I thought it would be too nose heavy but it still balances pretty good. Hope you guy's like it!
