This thread may go gangbusters, or may fizzle. Guess we'll find out.

Here's the deal: if you could have 3 Surefire lights, which ones would you pick, and why?
You can have as many upgrades as you want, but you can only choose 3 hosts total. (An AW soft start switch, Surefire 6P, and FM G26 bi-pin holder all count as one light).

Added a poll as a completely separate item. You can vote independently of your three choices if you wish.

Mine would be:

1. Surefire E2L-AA with F04 diffuser & F05 red filter & E1L body

2. Surefire 6P with FM35 red filter

3. Surefire 9P with A19 extension

Drop ins:
Sportac 219 Triple
Malkoff M61
Malkoff M61L 219
Malkoff M61LLL 219
P90 incan
P60 incan

Good variance of runtime & brightness configurations, with the incan option thrown in for kicks. Most of these LED drop ins will run on a wide range of voltages, even 2xAA in a pinch.

Man that's a lot of thinking involved.

My instinct tells me I'd reach for a 9P, C3 and M3. Hard to leave a headlamp out, but oh well.

The 9P would be bored with an A14 extender to run a Malkoff M91AW on three 18500s. A nice warm flood light.
The C3 would be bored with an A19 extender to use two 18650s to power a Malkoff M61LLL HCRI2. Nice long run time with a nice tint.
The M3 would be left completely stock except it would be using a Lumens Factory EO-M3 bulb. Used sparingly if I need to see something way out. I also can't leave out my favorite SureFire.

Three cell SureFires are my favorite lights, bar none. :)

Gah, good call! I even own an A19 and forgot to put it on my list. It will now reside on my 9P in my scenario :thumbsup:

Surefire 9P bored for 2x18500's with a Malkoff M61 219 LLL
General use that allows for frequent recharging w/ great runtimes
Multiple options for batteries - 2-AA's, 2x18500's, 3 CR123's, etc - Also with different Malkoff's, I can interchange them. ;)

Surefire Z2 bored for 18650's with a Malkoff M61NLLLL

Go to light - General use with long run times

Surefire E2L-AA
Great all purpose light that can be used with many different batteries

I'll do an all stock model version, though I am a big fan of the Surefire lego game.

Titan T1A
Amazing EDC light that covers 99% of my general use.

UB3T
Big light, lots of output, lots of throw. Plenty of light for most bigger jobs, but can be dialed down so you don't burn the batteries out too fast.

2211
Super oddball light that turns out to be really fun to use. Internal LiIon and USB charging makes this one easy to keep ready to go.

This could be interesting. I am not too sure about the level of priority but here goes;

1) E1e with Tana 3 mode 219

2) C2 bored, 18650, EDC Triple XPG. Wall of light

3) M6 with one of my LED drop in's. XML2 @ 1.4 amps 500 lumens with nice hot spot.

3 awesome lights. Great range of lumens. Hard to go wrong.

Well, I have 3 Surefire Lights. (Actually 4, but 2 are 6P's). So I chose these:

1a) 6P with later "neutral" M61W: rock solid and dead simple;
1b) 6P with NB 800L 3-mode 5000k neutral XM-L: very practical in a lot of situations;
2) C2 with NB 800L 3-mode 4500K neutral XM-L: another practical user;
3) G2z with M61L hCRI: extended runtime and minimal heat for the plastic bezel.

All of 'em have McClicky's. With the std SureFire switches I had a hot light (once) and dead batteries (another time; different light.) I really like the lockout feature. Plus, it kept my daughter from blinding her grandmother when she was wearing my jacket.
"I have a flashlight and I'm not afraid to use it!!! Click... Click... Click. Um, Daddy, it doesn't work. :( "

I have one of Gene's M61 219's, as well. I love that thing in my C2, but currently have it in a different P60 host.

Surefire 6P, Surefire LX2, and Surefire E2L.

Basically the three Surefires I haven't sold off yet, lol.
Yeah, it's a relatively bland and boring selection of Surefires but they're all no-nonsense lights.

1. Oveready Mini Turbohead C2/XM-L2/DD with M2 head - because it is a beast

2. Bored 6P with Malkoff M61 NL - for long runtime

3. Z44 bezel, Malkoff M361 N, FM 18350 tube and Z41 tail with McClicky - because I like stubby lights

Tough call.

I decided on the Z series though. For as long as I have liked Surefires, The 6z/Z2 has been my favorite. My EDC (backpack pouch) is a bored Z2 with a McClicky, and a 4 mode (Moonlight-L-M-H) dedomed XML2 U2.

However, for pants pocket carry, its definitely an E series. :thumbsup:

I voted P series.

I have a C2, and a Z2, but I like the round, knurled bodies of my 6P and 9P better for carrying around.

Like you, I was surprised at no Z votes (until now, 1 vote currently).

+1

Honestly if you asked me next week which I preferred it would probably change. I just really enjoy the feel of the 9V lights though, which may be because I have pretty big hands. I really wish the C series did not come with clips. I'm probably in the minority here though.

It was close. But for me, the C2/C3 models just trump the 6P/9P series.

My EDC is similar. A Z2 in my backpack with 3 mode Nailbender drop in and an E1 body with a Tana Triple.

Hmmm....I couldn't place a vote. I have Z series and C series Surefires and just couldn't say which I like best. My favorite 3?

My Z3 with 2 setups: Malkoff M61L HCRI2 or a SolarForce low voltage P60 drop in that runs on 2xAAs. This one is modified with a M2 ribbed head and an Oveready smooth bezel. McClicky Hard press is next mod.

Surefire 6P with a Malkoff M61LL, M2 ribbed bezel(Love those!) and Oveready Smooth bezel.

Surefire G2Z with a Z44 bezel with a Xeno smooth bezel and running either a Malkoff M61LL or The original Surefire P60L.

interesting thread.

I was sure I responded to this thread, but obviously I didn't.

3 Surefires is simple.

1. M4 with LF M3T bulb and 2x17670 (got this one already) its my reach out and touch stuff light.
2. 9P (mine is bored/anodized by oveready, dropin by Moddoo) but a malkoff for more runtime might be nice too
3 Minimus Vision, perfect for actually working while using a light
