Also i need one which doesn't get very hot during charging 4 cells @1A. Thanks.

Up your budget by $70 and buy two Xtar VP2s.

Check Xtar website for the model that may fit your need. Then check out the reviews prior to canvassing. Xtar has a lot of models that may fit your requirements.

Hi guys, i decided to go for either Efest LUC V4 2014, or Soshine S1-max V3, heading towards the updated version of LUC V4, which has fixed voltage current instead of the bad 4.35 on the old one, the Efest also offer alot less heat on the batteries ~40 vs 50c...on the other chargers from this class generally,

One thing i dont understand, is how does one change the current from 1A to 0.5A does the LUC V4 offer this option?

Look below the word "charger" there is the current select button.

Hi Guys!
I'm kind of in the same boat, trying to decide between:
- Efest Luc V4
- Xtar VC4 (but only charges at 500mah)
- Klarus CH4S (but I haven't found any review for it yet)

I know that the Xtar VP4 charges at 1A, but i´ve read that the batteries get pretty hot while charging..

I am guessing you're in the sub-50$ field? If that is so, then also check out Opus charger :)

Freakin' awesome!! I've been using this for a couple weeks now. 1-4 cells, 4x1000mA with option to use 2x1500mA or 2x2000mA for a quick charge. Lots of other options under 1000mA too. I like having the discharge function...now I can store batteries around 3.7v easily instead of burning them in a light and guessing.

But i'll say that above the 50$-mark, there are much stronger candidates :poke:

Thank you all for your suggestions!
About the VC4 charging only at 500mAh, I meant for 4 batteries at the same time. If its really good, I could be patient and wait a bit longer.
The only gripe I have regarding the Opus is that i read that it can be loud (or at least distracting because of the fan).
I'm looking to spend around $40

I don't find the fan to be any louder than a laptop or computer. I know that can vary model to model, but in general, not a problem at all.
